The executive of the RCMS committee has reviewed the idea of running two information evenings.
As a result, the proposal to consider "Crazy for You" has been withdrawn.
There will be only one information evening, for "The Producers" on Monday 22 April.
Please throw all your support behind this great show, and help us to cast a fantastic line-up of leads and supports!
"The Producers" has a big cast, with plenty of room for chorus and small parts as well as the leads!
More information on characters and audition material to be posted in the next couple of weeks on the web site, so stay tuned.

Dear Members, Friends of the Society and Fellow Thespians,
I wish to thank all the people that have been involved in any way with our Productions this year. Your tireless dedication to the Society over the past twelve months has been very much appreciated by the committee of 2012.
We are looking forward to 2013 with a new vigour having had such a successful year with the Panto “Ali Baba” and the outstanding opening of “Chicago” in the new Theatre; we well and truly christened the “Boards” and displayed to the public what can now be achieved with the new facilities from Front of House to the Stage Door.
The committee and I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy, safe and wonderful time spent over the Festive Season with your family and friends. We will look forward to seeing you all in the New Year of 2013.
Believe me when I say it is all "UP" from now on for the Red Cliffs Musical Society after having re-established our Society back at the Mildura Arts Theatre and I am personally looking forward to new faces and our stalwarts returning for our major production in the later part of the new year.
May the blessings of Christmas and the unknown fortunes of a New Year exhilarate your senses to grasp every opportunity that comes your way.
Warmest regards to you all, Pamela Bradley President And on behalf of the Red Cliffs Musical Society Committee |

Dear Fellow thespians & friends of the society,
Here we are at last only five weeks away from finally “bumping in” and getting the much anticipated production of Chicago on the stage at the New Arts Theatre. To say that the last twelve months have been somewhat stressful for the committee and dedicated cast would be an understatement.
Over the course of the past months we have had to change our performance dates twice and both times it was one of apprehension as so much depended on the Company that held the Performing Rights to allow us to move our dates.
Fortunately for us we had very sympathetic people who were very obliging and understood our predicament caused by the delays of the theatre opening and both times let us extend the performance dates. As the director I have been very fortunate to assemble a cast of incredible talent and the finished product you will see on the stage is testament to their patients, hard work and resilience.
The cast that have been rehearsing since May have taken each situation in their stride and the dedication they have shown is a true indication of the commitment they have made to this huge production.

The gala opening night is on Saturday 17th November and is going to be an exciting night of “Ribbon Cutting”, with Dignitaries from Federal, State and Local Government here for the event and they will be attending the performance giving the cast an opportunity to show just what can be accomplished by an amateur theatre company.
The people that have been stalwarts to this production are Andrew MacKay who is sponsoring our set and has given us an amazing set to work on, Luke Peak our musical director who has assembled a band second to none who have embraced the real 1920’s style of the music score, Jennifer Ross for stepping up to the plate for me with the choreography and the happy band of “Cell Block Dancers” to Julie Maynard & Jan Marshall for getting the costumes that I wanted for the overall look of the production, and my gratitude to all those that have supported me personally through the “up and down times” I have been through.
I have been waiting about 15 years to do this particular production and all the people that are involved in this ride with me have made it a very special production for me to direct.
If you wish to be in attendance for the “Red Cliffs Musical Society’s” long awaited return to the precinct where for over forty years they performed in the “Old Theatre” and now move into a “New Theatre” and beginning a new era of expansion in the presentation of musical theatre by our company.
You will soon have the opportunity. Bookings will open soon at the Mildura Arts Theatre booking office and also at the Alfred Deakin Centre.
Apart from opening night, the production will be on stage from Monday November 19th to Saturday 24th November with a matinee performance on the 24th November. If you intend to come on opening night there will be limited seating available due to the Dignitaries being in house and as yet the remaining seats have not been released, so if you want to be there opening night you may have to hold off booking until that night is released, we will inform you on this site when that happens.
On behalf of the committee we will be looking forward to seeing you in the foyer. It is a huge time of celebration for the”Red Cliffs Musical Society to be finally back at the MAC” so please come along and be part of this momentous occasion.
Yours sincerely,
Pamela Bradley, President and Director of Chicago |

It did not take long for the beginning of this year to start flying by and here we are entering into April, one does wonder just where the past three month have gone and also makes you reflect back to see if those days and months were productive for you. Time has this habit of getting away from us and plans we make often do not work out the way we want them to, nor do we spend the time with our friends that we may have promised we would as a New Years Eve resolution, but the wonderful thing about the friends that you hold dear to you is that no matter how things pan out they are always there to support you.
I have, over the last months found that the friends I hold near and dear have been very supportive to not only me but to the Red Cliffs Musical Society which goes without saying is a very important part of my life and to many others involved with the Society.
It was regrettable that we had to cancel “The Producers” but we have moved on and we are working very hard towards the production of “Chicago” which will be a huge challenge to all that come on board to be involved. The excitement of doing the first Musical presentation in the “New Theatre” is going to be an extraordinary experience.
I can remember back when Red Cliffs Musical Society was in a similar situation with the opening of the “Old Theatre” and the excitement generated put everyone on a high for weeks. This is the way I feel now and I am very determined that the show we are going to put on the “New Boards” of the Theatre will be a highlight not only for everyone involved in the production but the audiences that will come to the show. This is going to be our opportunity to show case the Red Cliffs Musical Society and regain some of the patrons that have strayed away over the past years, this is our time to put us firmly back in the spotlight as a performing company that has always strived to bring first class entertainment to the community and gives anyone who wants to be on stage the encouragement to do so.
The information night for “Chicago” is on Thursday 19th April with auditions following over the weekend Saturday 21st, Sunday 22nd, and if needed also the Monday 23rd, on the information night you will be able to book a time for your audition. If you wish to audition for one of the leading roles you will need to have a song prepared that is relevant to the character and also be familiar with the character you wish to portray and you will be required to do a bit of movement under the guidance of Sharon Burgess who is going to be the choreographer for the show. There is also a lot of other small parts available that can be selected from Chorus members so if you usually like to work in the chorus but would like to be considered for one of these minor roles I would like you to do a dialogue audition – this dialogue will consist of a reading from the script and will be chosen for you.
There is a list prepared and on the website of the characters required from the lead roles to the secondary roles and the requirements for those characters, please don’t be put off by the dancing requirement as it may only involve simple choreographed movement.
I look forward to seeing all those that are interested in being in “Chicago” at the Information night.
“Be part of another history making event for the Red Cliffs Musical Society.”
